RHIT & UT join forces for Oak Ridge National Lab DOE Science Day
While participating in the Department of Energy Science Day hosted by the University of Tennessee, our team was given a valuable outreach opportunity. Students and presenters alike were extremely interested in and impressed with the ChallengeX program. Participants in the events ranged from high school students up through those at a graduate level, all with an extreme interest in science and technology. By having the Equinox from both Rose-Hulman and UT on site, the cars became a bit of a magnet for those people who desired a bit more tangible exhibit than a traditional booth. Overall, the trip can be considered nothing but a great success. By being able to reach many of the 1600 individuals attending, there was a great amount of interest generated in ChallengeX, our Model Based Design Class, Hybrid Technology, and Rose-Hulman in general. Team members that participated: Rebecca Winer, Robert Warden, Matthew Lipkowitz and Outreach Advisor Corena Herniter. University of Tennessee members: Scott Curran and GM Mentor Fred Hondstadt |
